There are several different types of heating system that a homeowner can choose, when either purchasing a new home or as a part of the building process when designing a new home. Most heating systems use water or air that has been heated in some way and then distributed throughout the home. Hopewell specialized in the installation and replacement of following types of heating systems.
Forced air system: (Natural gas, propane, or oil furnaces)
The most common type of heating system is a forced air furnace. The air is heated by either natural gas, propane or oil and forced through the ductwork by a fan. Forced air systems can also be used to cool your home as well.
Water heated system: (Natural gas, propane, or oil boilers and radiant heat)
Hot water baseboard heat works by circulating water from a boiler that heats the water and then transfers the hot water through tubes that are contained in baseboard mounted units. This type of system would require an additional cooling system to be installed separately if air conditioning is desired.
Radiant heating is another water based heat. This type of heat is usually planned out in a new home construction or home renovation project since the tubing is installed in the floor or ceiling and then covered. The water is heated by a boiler and the pumped through the tubes which gradually heats the room. This type of system would require an additional cooling system to be installed separately if air conditioning is desired.
Heat pump systems: (Air sourced heat pumps and ductless mini split systems)
Air sourced heat pump systems move heat rather than generate heat. During the heating season the refrigerant flows through a closed system of refrigerant lines between the indoor and outdoor units. Heat energy is absorbed through the refrigerant lines by the outdoor coil and then travels to the indoor coil where it is released. The air is then pushed through the ductwork to increase the interior temperature. This system can be reversed to cool your home as well.
Ductless mini split systems work the same as a heat pump however the air is distributed through a head unit that has been mounted on the wall or floor. These units are designed for applications where installing traditional ductwork is not feasible or practical. This system can also cool your home.
Geothermal system: (Ground source heat pump)
Geothermal heating system absorb the heat that is stored in the ground through the water that circulates in its underground loop. This heat is the carried to the ground source heat pump where it is concentrated and then delivered through the ductwork by a fan to your home. We install closed loop systems. The geothermal system will cool your home as well using the same process.
Air conditioning systems are becoming a necessity in today’s homes. They provide a comfortable living environment no matter what the temperature rises to outside. There are two types of air conditioning systems: central air conditioning and ductless mini split systems.
Central air conditioning:
Warm air is pulled from inside your house into the ductwork by a fan. The compressor in the outdoor unit circulates refrigerant between the indoor evaporator coil and the outdoor unit. The warm indoor air travels to the indoor coil where the refrigerant that is flowing in the coil absorbs the heat from the indoor air. This now cooled air travels back through the ductwork in the home and lowers the temperature.
Ductless mini split systems:
The mini splits use the same process as the central air conditioning system however the air is pulled in through each head unit and then passes over the coil in the heat unit and then back out to your conditioned space.
Hopewell offers FREE water testing. We test for iron, ph balance, hardness and TDS. We install acid neutralizers and water softener systems. Water treatment system help prolong the life of your appliances and plumbing.
Does your water have a red, orange, or brown tint to it? Does it leave stains in your tub or toilet? You could have too much iron in your water. This can cause a buildup in your appliances or water heater and lead to unnecessary repairs or replacements. It can also impact your health.
A simple water test will tell you if your water is acidic or alkaline. Rates below a 6.5 mean that your water is acidic. This means that it will corrode your plumbing, fixtures, and appliances. Rates above 8 are a sign of alkaline water. This encourages a calcium build up and a bitter taste.
The Air Scrubber Plus uses certified space technology to protect the air you breathe. The air scrubber works by producing positive and negative charged ions that collect the dust and causes them to attach to one another. Once they get large enough they are caught by the air filter in your heating and cooling system or they drop to the floor.
The air scrubber destroys up to 99% of surface contaminants that land on countertops, floors, door handles. It also destroys up to 90% of airborne contaminants. The air scrubber will help reduce pet dander and odors, cigarette smoke, paint fumes, mold smells, and the occasional food odor.
Does anyone in your family have allergies? The air scrubber uses ActivePure technology that uses specialized light waves along with a proprietary catalytic process that creates enviro-scrubbing molecules of oxygen and hydrogen which purify your air and reduces irritating particles that can irritate allergy systems.
Hopewell can also handle minor residential plumbing repairs such as: water heater installation or replacement, well tanks, well pumps, water leaks, and faucet replacements.
